Main Events Guidelines

Each Anime Expo® event in the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live or Club Nokia has its own rules when it comes to appropriate behavior. Please abide by those rules as they are stated. Conditions apply to all parties attending events in Nokia Theatre L.A. Live or Club Nokia, including Anime Expo® Staff. Any penalties incurred in Nokia Theatre L.A. Live or Club Nokia will count towards the convention’s one-strike policy for Main Events.

Photography and Video Recording

Opening and Closing Ceremonies

For issues of safety for our Guests of Honor, please refrain from using flash photography. Photos and videos must be for personal use only, with the exception of Anime Expo® Archive Staff and pre-approved Press members.

Anime Expo® Concerts and Anime Music Video (AMV) Contest

Photography and video recording of any kind are strictly prohibited with the exception of Anime Expo® Archive Staff and pre-approved Press members. By attending, you agree not to bring any photography or recording devices into the venue.

A bag check is available in the West Hall Lobby in the Convention Center to store cameras and other electronic devices for the duration of these events.

Any attendee(s), non-authorized press, or staff members discovered with functioning equipment will be subjected to immediate deletion of all media stored in the device, one strike on the badge, and, at the discretion of Anime Expo® Staff, ejection from the venue and badge revocation for the remainder of the convention.

AX Masquerade and AX Idol

For issues of safety for our contestants, please refrain from using flash photography. Photos and videos must be for personal use only, with the exception of Anime Expo® Archive Staff and pre-approved Press members.

Miscellaneous

Due to the high volume of people who will be attending the Main Events and in accordance with the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live and Club Nokia Policies, the following should be noted:

• No excess or large baggage (14 by 14 inches or larger).
• No oversized costumes and/or props, or anything resembling a weapon (with the exception of Masquerade contestants on Sunday, July 3rd).

Attendees are highly encouraged to utilize the bag check located in the West Hall Lobby in the Convention Center prior to arriving at the venue.

All attendees, press, and staff members attending events in Nokia Theatre L.A. Live and Club Nokia must have valid tickets. Those found loitering in aisles or hallways will be asked to leave the venue.

Skanking, moshing, or standing on chairs will not be permitted in Nokia Theatre L.A. Live or Club Nokia. Those caught doing so will face immediate ejection from the venue and receive one strike on the badge or, at the discretion of Anime Expo® Staff, badge revocation for the remainder of the convention.

Smoking is not permitted in Nokia Theatre L.A. Live or Club Nokia.

Outside food or beverage is not permitted in Nokia Theatre L.A. Live or Club Nokia.

There is no re-entry allowed in Nokia Theatre LA. Live or Club Nokia.

All attendees are subject to the Anime Expo® Code of Conduct.
